Outdoor
recreation flourishes in the Princeton area, with so much to do
and so many places to see it would take a life time of exploring
to discover it all. The outdoor enthusiast will always find
something to do no matter what the season. The over 50
surrounding lakes provide for year round activities, with
swimming, boating and water
skiing in the summer and snowmobiling,
ice fishing, cross country
skiing, and dogsledding
& skijoring in the winter. The high country comes to life
in the early summer as wild flowers add to the adventures of
hiking and mountain
biking. As the river rises in the spring the kayakers
and canoeists gear up for a run down the Tulameen or the
Similkameen Rivers. Summer
fills the local campsites with
visitors from all over the world. The Kettle
Valley Railway provides excellent trails year round and there
are many other trails for horse
back riding in the Princeton area. The fall brings the
opening of the hunting season and
the backcountry fills with hunters looking for grouse, deer, elk
and moose.
